Ronaldo’s goal tally for both club and country this year now stands at 40, making him the leading scorer in 2023

Ronaldo, aged 38, was instrumental in Portugal’s qualification for the UEFA Euro 2024 finals during the international break. He scored two goals in their 3-2 victory over Slovakia at home last week. The win secured their place in the tournament in Germany.
Ronaldo continued his impressive form in the second half of the qualifying campaign. He netted two goals as Portugal triumphed 5-0 over Bosnia-Herzegovina. The victory extended Portugal’s winning streak to eight games. His goal tally for both club and country this year now stands at 40, making him the leading scorer in 2023. The Portuguese magnifico surpassed Manchester City’s Erling Haaland to achieve this feat.
Grand welcome for Cristiano Ronaldo
On Thursday, Cristiano Ronaldo returned to his Saudi Arabian club. His Al Nassr teammates presented him with a personalized cake adorned with his image by at Al Nassr. The cake was presented in honour of his 40th goal of the 2023 season.
Ronaldo has scored 40 goals in all competitions this year. Out of 40, nine of them came for Portugal in their qualifying campaign for Euro 2024. He will now be looking forward to a record-breaking sixth European Championship with the 2016 Euro winners in Germany next July.
Ronaldo will return to action against Damac in the Saudi Premier League on October 21st. Luis Castro’s Al Nassr have 19 points from nine games, trailing leaders Al-Hilal by four points.
The Saudi Arabia experience seems to be coming off quite well for Ronaldo. In addition to scoring host of goals, The striker also saw his son being signed for Al Nassr’s U-13 side.
