FC Goa announced the appointment of Lokesh Bherwani as the Club’s new Director of Football, ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL 2023-24). This strategic move underscores the Club’s commitment to enhancing its footballing operations and reinforcing its position among the footballing leaders in the country.
Bherwani brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this pivotal role, having played a vital role in the development and management of football operations at various levels for the Gaurs.

Previously the Senior Manager of Player Recruitment, Scouting and Analysis at FC Goa for over six years, he now returns to the Club as Director of Football.
In his new role, Lokesh Bherwani will be responsible for overseeing the club’s footballing operations, including player acquisitions, talent development, and strategic planning.
Commenting on the appointment, Ravi Puskur, CEO of FC Goa, said, “Lokesh has a deep-rooted understanding of the club’s inner workings. Having been involved in various capacities within the organization, he has developed an intricate knowledge of our culture, values, and objectives. His familiarity with every aspect of the club, from the youth development program to the first team, positions him uniquely to excel, which has led to his promotion to the position of Director of Football. This transition is a logical and natural progression for him.

This appointment comes as FC Goa gears up for the upcoming football season. The Gaurs will play their first match of ISL 2023-24 on Monday, October 2 against Punjab FC at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda.
