Kevin Garnett feels bad for Joel Embiid and his situation with the Philadelphia 76ers. It’s no mystery that James Harden is making it difficult for the team to operate with his absences. However, the conflict between Harden and Daryl Morey creates consequences beyond repair. One of the people most affected by it is last season’s MVP, Embiid.
If Kevin Garnett Were Joel Embiid, He Would Ask For Morey’s Resignation
The Hall of Famer is fed up with how the Sixers are handling the situation. Thus, he vents about it on his podcast, KG Certified on Showtime Basketball. He puts himself in the big man’s shoes and would be fed up the moment preseason ended without the team trading Harden away.
“This could have been resolved a long time ago. These are games, he [Morey] could have done this in the summer.”
Kevin Garnett
In this hypothetical, he even threatens to leave if the President of Basketball Operations doesn’t do anything about the 10-time All-Star causing trouble for the team. Furthermore, he’s already angry on behalf of the six-time All-Star.
“If I’m Joel Embiid, man I’m asking for Daryl Morey to be fired. If I’m Joel Embiid, I am livid.”
Kevin Garnett
He thinks Embiid shouldn’t be treated like this, mainly because he’d want to contend for a ring. Meanwhile, the Sixers look like a strong team but nowhere near the current league favorites like the Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, or Boston Celtics.
“He’s MVP, bro. He ain’t in no championship talks.”

The Drama Leaves The Cameroonian Big Man Watching From The Sidelines
Furthermore, the team is watching how this is unfolding. It’s unknown whether the players were given a say in this matter or not.
However, most of Harden’s teammates praise him for his professionalism on the court with them.
“Man, he sittin’ back watching all this. [Tyrese] Maxey, watchin’ all this. All those guys, man. The league watching this.”
Kevin Garnett
In the end, the retired Minnesota Timberwolf just wants the team to lay the issue to rest.
“For good business, man, I just hope that the Sixers and James Harden come to some resolve and just get it over with.”
Kevin Garnett
The former scoring champ was the talk of the NBA for a while with his issues with Morey. It’s slowly coming to a boil as tensions rise from both camps.
Eventually, a fallout or compromise of some sort must happen. Time will only tell which one they pick.
