The launch of the second PTR of Diablo 4 gives gamers a glimpse of the changes and feature changes that will be coming to Season 5.
The purpose of PTR is to test updates and learn about features before Diablo 4 Season 5 is released. Developers will then make adjustments based on feedback before releasing it to players. Our feedback helps developers adjust game data and balance, reduce code errors, and provide gamers with a best experience.
Here are some of the content updates we’re more concerned about.
New Season 5 Eternal Quest: Eyes of Enemy
Season 5 feature is a brand-new story. Enemies have been wiped out, alliances shift, and even some unexpected people have appeared. A Questline has been featured in PTR. This quest takes place after Main Questline and is available in Seasonal Realms and Eternal Realms. It will be permanently saved in Eternal Realms after the end of Season 5.
Slay Infernal Hordes
We need to go to Hawezar in World Tier III to find out the reason the city residents are rioting. After completing the quest, we need to fight Infernal Hordes. This is a new event on Season 5. We only need to complete it once to get Diablo 4 Gold.
Helltides are just the beginning of terror. In Realm of Hatred, there will be endless Hell’s Legions, and the Infernal Hordes are growing at an alarming rate every day. You need to Burning Aether to unlock powerful weapons and Diablo 4 Items. After successfully killing hordes, we can fight the Fell Council.
We need to use Infernal Compass to enter Realm of Hatred. There are two ways to get Infernal Compass. One is to complete the recently updated eternal quest to get it, and the second is to defeating Endgame Bosses, Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, and Whispers. Players can choose the appropriate method to find the Infernal Compass.
Infernal Hordes
- Infernal Hordes are time-limited, and each wave lasts about 90 seconds.
- We need to collect Burning Aether and use it when successfully ending the battle.
- After 90-second battle is over, three Infernal Offers will appear. We choose one of them to change ourselves. After the selection is completed, we will enter the next wave of attacks.
- After you successfully complete all the attacks from Well of Hatred and defeat Fell Council, all our Burning Aether can be used to select Spoils of Hell.
Infernal Offer
After each wave of attacks, Infernal Offer will give you a choice to tempt you. You need to choose an Infernal Offer to enhance or weaken your fighting style.
For example, if you increase Elite damage, Elites grant will provide you with more Burning Aether. Infernal Offers will stack across the duration of your Infernal Hordes run, which can be triggered during combat at the same time. Infernal Offers require you to increase the difficulty for more Aether. If you want more Burning Aether, you must complete higher difficulties.
Burning Aether
Earn Burning Aether by slaying Aether Fiends, Aether Lords or by destroying Soulspires and Aetheric Masses. And whether you play alone or with friends, this is earned separately.
+Spoils of Hell
On a successful run, we can get Spoils of Hell through Burning Aether. The following four Spoils of Hell may be obtained.
- Spoils of Materials
- Spoils of Equipment
- Spoils of Gold.
- Spoils of Greater Equipment.
This Spoils of Hell is guaranteed to be a higher-level item.
Infernal Compass
There are eight levels of Infernal Compass, and its difficulty increases with the increase in World Tier. The Infernal Compass Tier increases in waves, with 5 waves for Tiers I-III and 10 waves for Tier VIII. Infernal Compass will increase the difficulty of monsters and reduce the number of resurrections.
We need to use Abyssal Scrolls to update Infernal Compass. Infernal Compasses will only drop at Tier I-III; Abyssal Scrolls can be used to increase Tier VIII to the maximum level.
Battle Fell Priests
If you are lucky enough to survive Infernal Hordes, there is a Fell Council waiting for you. These priests were originally in Diablo 2 to protect us from Prime Evil Mephisto. But unfortunately, the people who protected us were eventually corrupted and stood on the opposite side of us.
There are five Fell Council Members, each with unique abilities. Each time you meet with Fell Council, there are three unique members and their combatants, and the people you fight each time are also random, so we need to be careful of their unique skills.
Once you’ve done enough damage to Fell Council, they’ll attack even harder. If we want to survive, we have to be extremely vigilant. After defeating Fell Council, we can use Burning Aether to Spoils of Hell.
New Weapons And Items
Burning Hell is the most intense, and it’s also the most likely to forge unexpected weapons. In Season 5, some new Legendaries, Uniques, and more Diablo 4 items were introduced. These items need to be obtained by slaying enemies in Sanctuary.
Endgame Bosses
The developers have made some adjustments to the endgame bosses. Before, we had to reset the dungeon to replay the same boss, which was very troublesome for us. For example, after the modification, summoning Altar can be replayed with more resources. Summoning Varshan has also become simpler, and Diablo 4 materials only needs Malignant Hearts, and other materials are no longer needed. Many bosses have been adjusted, which greatly improves our gaming experience.
The above are some adjustments we care about in Diablo 4 Season 5 PTR. These and feedback are for us to have a better gaming experience. Let us look forward to the release of The Diablo 4 Season 5 on August 6th!
