The 1st Test of Sri Lanka vs Pakistan is currently underway and the visitors are trying to push the game to a result on Day 4 today, attacking and picking up quite a few wickets on the way. In just the second session of the day, they managed 6 Sri Lankan wickets and most of them came from electric fielding and catching by the Pakistanis.
One such example was the sixth wicket to fall in Sadeera Samarawickrama, who stepped out to Agha Salma and managed a slight feather behind the wicket on the leg side. To his bad luck, Abdullah Shafique was positioned at short leg and picked up the best catch of the match, one handed and even off balanced and wrong-footed.
Abdullah Shafique one handed catch at short leg
Five wickets down and only a little bit of a 2nd innings lead, Samarawickrama was trying to up the scoring rate and hit two boundaries in the over, before stepping out and falling to the bowling of Salman. Going to his right and behind him, Shafique managed to grab a one-handed stunner, leaving everyone including the batsman shocked, the latter being dismissed for 11(11).
In just four overs, Agha Salman managed to pick up 2 wickets and this catch left the hosts in massive trouble, at 175/6. At the time, they even had a slim lead of only 27 runs and if Pakistan continue picking wickets at regular wickets, this 1st Test could go their way and we may not even need a Day 5 for the same.

On one hand, Dhananjaya de Silva is holding the fort strong for the home side, batting on 47* at the time of us writing this, and the Sri Lankan lead crawling up to 41 runs. He’s expected to keep up the shot-making and score runs as and when he sees the opportunities. Take a look at that amazing Abdullah Shafique catch here:
