Blackburn Rovers host promotion-chasing Leicester City at Ewood Park in a Championship clash.
Victory will lift Blackburn up to tenth in the table, whilst Leicester can return to the summit with at least a draw.
Team News
Harry Leonard is ruled out for Blackburn after he missed their Carabao Cup win over Cardiff with a calf injury.
Tyrhys Dolan (illness) is a minor doubt but Ryan Hedges (hamstring), Sam Gallagher (calf), Niall Ennis (knee) and Sam Barnes (thigh) remain absent.
Leicester have no fresh injury concerns after their 3-1 defeat at Liverpool in the Carabao Cup, as Callum Doyle (unspecified) remains ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
Blackburn host Leicester at Ewood Park in a 12pm BST kick-off on Sunday 1 October, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Blackburn are unbeaten in three of their last five league meetings against Leicester (W2, D1, L2).
- Leicester have claimed just two points from their last six league visits to Blackburn (D2, L4).
- Both teams have scored in four of their last five meetings in all competitions.
- Blackburn are yet to keep a clean sheet at home this season in all competitions (W4, L2).
- Kasey McAteer has scored four goals in his last three away appearances for Leicester in the Championship this season (W3).
Prediction
Although several changes were made for their midweek 5-2 demolition of Cardiff, Blackburn now must take confidence from that win but tighten up defensively because their defensive record at home has been sloppy and particularly inconsistent in league form alone (W2, L2).
Leicester meanwhile could be disappointed to lose at Liverpool from one goal up but given Liverpool’s lucky habit of coming from behind to win, Enzo Maresca’s Foxes need to put that result behind them and respond with another strong performance.
Blackburn however do have serious attacking quality to hurt Leicester especially given their home form against the Foxes, so this might be closer than some might think and a score draw might be a fair result.
Prediction: Blackburn 1-1 Leicester
